Microsoft have announced the release of a Software Development Kit (SDK) to allow their controller-free gaming controller, Kinect, to work with the Microsoft Windows operating system.
Kinect allows users to control the Xbox 360 gaming system via a webcam with body movements. A game player can point to an area on the screen to take an action and game performance can be measured by the camera.
The SDK, which software developers will use to quickly produce Windows applications able to take advantage of Kinext, will be available this spring.
